The Beautiful Backroads Century

The Beautiful Backroads Century has returned to the format that most everyone knows and loves; starting and finishing at the Budweiser Brewery in Cartersville and riding the quiet rolling roads in that area.

We have nearly 100 riders registered for the event!  This will be the largest group of riders by far for NGCA.  And 6 days out, the weather looks excellent.  With this many riders, we need a plan…And the plan is as follows:

Getting there:  The ride starts at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Cartersville.  Address:  100 Busch Drive, Cartersville, GA 30121  You should plan on 45 minutes from I285 and I75 intersection.  Parking is usually in the nearby grass field which adds a few more minutes to get to the start.

Finding NGCA Team:  We plan to have our NGCA tent set up to the right of registration.  We will let you know if we are handling registration…not resolved as of yet.

The Start:  As many of you know, the BBC is a large ride and getting away from the start safetly has been a challenge in the past.  So here is our plan…we will have a group roll out at a reasonable pace.  You can join this group or you can go at your own pace.  No matter what, we want everyone to stop at rest stop 2 at around mile 23.5 to regroup, take some photos and then roll out together as a team for those who want to ride together.

The metric option and the century option routes stay together until around mile 52.

Post Ride:  The BBC has food, drinks and of course, some beer to plan on hanging around after the ride.
